Majlis Kesyukuran, Cukur Jambul & Berondoi Emma Marissa - Part 1

It is a common tradition in Islam , that when a baby is born, his arrival into the world is celebrated in a ceremony where his fringe is cut, he is given a name, and an animal is slaughtered and fed to friends and family in honor of his birth. This tradition is rooted in a hadith by prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) who said “When your child is born, celebrate and announce his arrival with a feast, cut his fringe and give him a name (on the seventh day of his birth)".
The Malay culture has adopted this practice religiously. The ‘fringe cutting’ ceremony better known in the Malay language as ‘cukur jambul’ or more formally as ‘andam surai’ is usually done within the first six months of the baby’s birth. It is usually done in conjunction with the feast, where a cow or a goat is slaughtered for the feast. This feast, better known as ‘aqiqah’ and the fringe cutting ceremony are sometimes done very elaborately, to welcome and celebrate the baby’s arrival. The baby is dressed in a beautiful gown or romper, and occasionally a beautifully dressed swing cradle or bassinet is placed in the living room for all to view the baby once the ceremony is over.

Thanks to family and frens who willing to spend some moments for my lil' emma... your presence means so much to us! Those yang tak dapat datang, no worries.. one of the reason - its mummy’s fault for not noticing it was a working Saturday…ehehe..sorry la ek..tatau plak TNB pun is still working on Saturday  …hihihi
Thanks to Hidie from Little Luxuries for the bassinet rental. I had tough time looking for her since they have closed their shop at Plaza Damas. Fortunately, I had the chance to get in touch with her thru my sister. Thanks beb! 
Thanks to Rafi as the photographer of the day. You captured our best moment! I love all the piccas..

first time nih emma dapat merasa makanan... 
since she's already 4 months, mummy bought her gerber.. perisa pear and banana..
Know what - her first experience with food was so funny...tak sampai 5 minit makan, emma boleh tido ngan jayanya  ...ahahaha....apa2 aje lah anak mummy sorang nih...

EMMA: My first hair cut @ A cut above

Alhamdulillah, emma’s event last saturday went well and as planned.
for pics, we put aside first…give some space for mr photographer to finalize his work …
update on emma…
well, she had her first hair cut on Sunday, a day after the event…
first thot nak botakkan je, tapi tak sampai hati plak nak botakkan rambut emma..coz she’s already 4mths…plus, she’s a girl!!.. cian dia nnt…so we decided to trim her hair ..trim, but short..hmmm cemana tuh…ala2 botak je lah…
so we went to A cut above @ Sunway Piramid for the hair cut…thank god emma was good that day! cuma cam rimas2 sket sbb towels all over her body…
tadaaa... see…now she looks more chubby, isn’t it…
cam boy pun ada.... cian dia...
kasi potong!
good boy? it's a girl lah...ehehe

Emma is 4 months today!!! yeay!!!!
so, this is the best time for us to celebrate the joy and happiness in welcoming our lil’ princess to the world.. We will be organizing an event for her this coming Saturday, 8th July 2006. The event is for Majlis Kesyukuran (along with aqiqah), Cukur Jambul & Berondoi. Attached is the card and details of the event.

Di satu petang...

Di satu petang yg hujan....mmg lebat giler.. emma and mummy caught in a jam...both of us looked at each other..mummy pandang emma..emma pandang mummy balik...eee...boringnya drive jam2 nih...nak ajak emma borak...mummy jek yg cakap sensorang nanti...
so, bosan tatau nak wat apa, mummy pun mencapai camera...nak mengambik gambar emma..
emma!!..emma!!!..  emma..mummy's here..smile!!..
si kecik yg sememangnya dah boring dok dlm 'sangkar' dia tuh...terus menerus memasamkan muka  ...tak ceria langsung la sayang mummy petang tuh...cian dia..

EMMA: Happy Father's day, Papa!

On Papa's day...that morning, as usual -chores came first..pastu bermalas2an, rehat2...
and in the afternoon...yeay!...emma and mummy planned something for papa .  ..mmm..a cake and a card will do! ...tapi nak makan apa ek, emma?...
Then mummy pun gi la beli cake, card and singgah kat Kenny Rogers sat..tapau for lunch...
and we happily celebrated Papa's Day!!
We love you long long time Papa!!

Makan2 at Marche, The Curve

Finally!..after so longgg...ada gak entry for mummy...
Last Monday we had farewell lunch for our colleague, Kok Meng... we headed to The Curve..makan2 kat Marche..mummy happy giler....sbb dpt makan reramai ngan kengkawan... lunch time pun jadi lah...
bukan senang nak dapat chance kuar makan2 lately..especially during late nite time..then lepaking till early morning...ikut papa gi futsal...minum2 wiv frenss etc etc...cian mummy...papa pun terpaksala bersama2 ngan mummy...dah berbulan2 tak berfutsal ye papa...spare tyre pun makin mantap... ekekek... 
anyways..nothing to regret...no worries..no worries..emma's growin' up.. mummy tunggu masa jek utk dpt green light blh bawak emma kuar mkn2 -mlm2 -at mamak's stall!...hehe...
NZ...wait for emma's first visit!
